1/17/2021 Make Your Content Understandable
When writing your content (whether a blog post or long-form social media post), you want to keep your customer persona in mind. If you write too technical, things will get lost in translation. If you write too juvenile for an older audience, you will come off as though you don’t know anything about your audience or the topic at hand.
Another key point in making your content understandable is that you need to be sure that nothing gets misunderstood. Clear communication is key to making sure that your audience doesn’t misconstrue what you are trying to say. Be sure that you spellcheck your content and make sure that it’s worded correctly. Otherwise, you’ll drive away your audience, especially if they are picky. What is the best way to make sure your target audience will understand what you are trying to say in your content? There are a few steps to do this: Step 1. You need to make a Customer Persona. You can do this by visiting www.hubspot.com/make-my-persona. They’ve made it really easy to create a Customer Persona. It just takes a few minutes to create one, then you can print it out or save it for later use. Step 2. Get familiar with your persona (and make sure to add onto it or make changes to the file as necessary). Get your team also involved in becoming familiar with the persona, as this is who you need to reach with your Marketing messages. Step 3. Write your Marketing material with this persona in mind. Is it something he or she would find helpful? Are you writing too lofty for this person to understand? In the end, you want your customers to be similar to this person, right? So, you need to make your Marketing match this persona. Everything, even down to digital advertising, needs to be with this key persona in mind. If you have a close acquaintance that fits this persona, you could also run your Marketing materials by this person before your Marketing materials are published. This way, you know that your Marketing is on point and reaching the right target audience. Want to Print Out the Key Parts of this Post?
